When my good friend Michael la-Cour proudly showed me his new site (local copy), I found myself compelled to do him a favor. The site didn’t have a doctype or a stylesheet. Used old-school table layout and font tags extensively, didn’t validate and even what’s infinitely worse; used frames.
Since the design is very simple, and consists of only 3 pages (startpage, working and gallery) – I knew it would be a breeze to quickly redo with validating xhtml 1.1 strict and css. I even told him that I could do it in one and a half hour, but I had to take it back since it took about an hour more.
The end result is a brand-spanking new webpage that’s easier to update, uses the latest web-standards, a little bit prettier than the original and deep-linkable. Oh yeah, and a happy mister Michael la-Cour.
The site has been tested and verified to work with IE5.0+, Mozilla and derivatives, Opera 7 and the Internet Explorer on my SmartPhone
